Blackmail

A hundred years ago, in 1907, with the article ‘Defects and Needs of Our Banking System’, Paul Warburg started a discussion about the banking system in the United States of those days, which resulted in creating the private central bank. The Federal Reserve in 2013 will probably celebrate the centenary of its origin. We say probably because the banking system created in the previous century is currently undergoing a deep breakdown.

Freedom and dignity

A free market is an excellent mechanism for coordination of billions of human talents and needs. Freedom of choice of how to reap the talent and of how to satisfy the needs is deeply rooted in human nature. Consumers through the free market reward those businessmen who use their talents to satisfy the needs of other people. The better they are at this, the bigger the prize. The magnificence of free market lies in the fact that it is not the businessmen’s motivation that matters – their desire to do good, wish fulfilment, getting satisfaction or benefits. What really counts is that in order to be successful on the free market, businessmen must serve consumers, and the latter reward them for their sacrifice purchasing their products and services.
